 Come share a scholarly or creative work in progress with your fellow faculty and librarians during the Works in Progress Colloquium. Sharing will take place in small groups [on Thursday, December 12th (during the writing retreat day) from 11:30-1:30pm] to ensure time for feedback and discussion. Please register to let us know how you’d like to use your 5-10 minutes to share something you have been working on, the primary focus around which you would like to be grouped (subject area, specific goal, or other), and what kind of feedback would be most useful to you at this stage. We will use the information you provide to organize participants into groups. We hope this event will lay the groundwork for more sustained sharing of works-in-progress among small groups of faculty and librarians in the spring.

Barnes, a local author of women's fiction novels, will discuss her writing process, finding an agent, and getting a publishing contract. She'll also talk about her two newest novels, All We Could Still Have about a woman's desperate desire to become a mother and the effect of several failed IVF treatments on her marriage, and The Mulligan Curse, the story of a 54-year-old-woman's wish to be 24 again coming true.
