- Live To The Truth: Kathryn Chamberlain(1:01) “My name is Katy Chamberlain, I am a sophomore early childhood education and Spanish major. To me, the phrase 'Live to the Truth' means identifying what you find is valuable in life and passionately pursuing it, and my truth would be just following my career path in education. I think that education can change lives, it can change the world, and in pursuing education I hope to give opportunities to other people around the world. Thank you.”
- Live To The Truth: Chris Macdonald Dennis(1:00) “Live to the Truth for me means embracing the reality of the diverse world that we live in, and I actually first did that here at Framingham state. My name is Christopher MacDonald-Dennis, I am Framingham State Class of 1991, and I am the Inaugural Chief Diversity Officer at Mass College of Liberal Arts. We cannot face the realities of our country’s history until we live to our truth, and that’s difficult. We have to deal with racism, we have to deal with our country’s classism, we have to deal with all of the 'isms' that come. We are the world’s greatest experiment in democracy. Thank you very much.”
- Live To The Truth: Dan Costello '16(0:45) Hi, I’m Dan Costello, Class of 2016. To me, live to the truth entails holding close the values of commitment, integrity, and respect. I live to the truth by being passionate with my work, seeking the best way to serve others, and striving towards excellence. Thank you.
- Live To The Truth: Dr. Diane Lowe(1:01) “I’m Diane Lowe in the Education Department here at Framingham State University. When I think of our motto, Live to the Truth, I start with myself. I think of my learning, my teaching, my preparing teachers. A lot of what we do as teachers is modeling, and I think my students understand that and learn to live their life by our motto, in their continued learning, in their teaching, and their journey on their path to what Helen Heinemann so often called, the “most noble profession.” Our students are bright, they’re articulate, they’re energetic, and they’re professional. When they’re out in the field and excel, they make us very proud. We’re all proud to be Framingham State University. Thank you.”

- Live To The Truth(1:01) Since 1839, Framingham State University has lived to the truth by upholding its mission of providing a high quality education to all qualified students. We asked the FSU community what “Live to the Truth” means to them.President F. Javier Cevallos: "Our first President, Cyrus Peirce, was a man that believed that education had one fundamental mission, to teach people the truth. The first time I heard 'live to the truth,' I thought it was an extremely powerful statement about what the institution is about; making sure that our students get the best education, but also with a higher purpose. And being an institution that was started as a teacher’s college, to train teachers, the higher purpose is actually making sure that the truth is available to everyone. So it’s a very powerful statement, and I think that we are now understanding how important it is to live to the truth, to make sure that we have integrity and the courage to talk about the truth and how important it is to all of us."
