Nicole Stanton chose to attend Framingham State because of its nationally-ranked Fashion Design and Retailing program, but she seized every opportunity to use the world as her classroom. “My fondest memories from my time at FSU are the international experiences I got to have,” she said. “I was able to sign up for a study tour to Amsterdam and Paris. I was also fortunate enough to receive scholarships from FSU to study abroad for a semester in Florence and to participate in an international summer program at the Show Women’s University in Tokyo.”

Nicole’s relationship with the Fashion department faculty has made a lasting impact on her, so it’s no surprise she served as part of the Fashion Design and Retailing faculty search committee. “My fashion professors have instilled the importance of professionalism in me, as well as given me the knowledge of and confidence to capitalize on my individualism and skills when I go to work in the industry.”

There’s one faculty member in particular, however, who holds a special place in Nicole’s heart. “My favorite thing about FSU has been having Dr. Ruirui Zhang as a professor,” she said. “She has been a massive support system and mentor for me ever since my fist class with her sophomore year. I am extremely grateful to her.”

Congratulations Nicole! #FramStateGrad19
